HTC Salsa Android 2.3 Officially Introduced in India

HTC has officially launched HTC Salsa Android smartphone in India. The HTC Salsa smartphone is powered by 800 Mhz Qualcomm processor and runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Though this phone already available for purchase since last week via online retailer Flipkart. HTC India offer it around Rs. 22,000 but at Flipkart its available at only Rs. 20,399.

According to Indian unit of The Taiwanese handset manufacturer HTC,  “HTC has always understood that different people want different things and the new HTC Salsa offers special new ways to socialize through a mobile device. With Indians increasingly getting hooked on to the social web, we wanted to create the ultimate socially connected phone which makes this experience simple and convenient".

HTC Salsa was initially introduced in February during the 2011 Mobile World Congress Barcelona. HTC Salsa features a 3.4-inch TFT capacitive multi-touch screen with 320 x 480 pixels resolution, 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB, a 5-megapixel main camera and a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls. The phone is powered by a 1520 mAh Li-Ion battery with Talk time Up to 240 minutes and Standby time Up to 120 hours.
Other specifications are support of 3G with Up to 7.2 Mbps download speed and Up to 384 kbps upload speed, the Audio supported formats are .aac, .amr, .ogg, .m4a, .mid, .mp3, .wav, .wma (Windows Media Audio 9) and Video supported formats are .3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .wmv (Windows Media Video 9), .avi (MP4 ASP and MP3), .xvid (MP4 ASP and MP3), accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

The HTC Salsa supports 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and Bluetooth v3.0 connectivity and syncs via a microUSB port. A unique Facebook clock on the Salsa features a stream of updates acting as the ticker. Apart from the usual HTC Sense widgets like Calendar and Friend Stream, the Salsa is preloaded with a Facebook Chat widget. HTC Salsa is one of the two Facebook phones launched by HTC on the market, along with HTC ChaCha.

Spice Mi-410 Android Phone Now Available in India for Rs. 13,999

Spice Mobility has finally made available the Spice Mi-410 Android smartphone in Indian Market. Announced back in August, the Spice Mi-410 is the most economical Android phone with such a high-end specs. It features Android 2.2 Froyo, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 4.1 Inch Capacitive screen, 2 GB Storage, 512MB RAM, , 5MP Camera and Secondary VGA Camera.

The Spice Mi-410 phone is equipped with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs Google's Android 2.2 Froyo platform. The smartphone comes with a 4.1-inch HVGA capacitive Touchscreen with 800x480 pixel resolution and a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and high-definition video record capabilities. It also features a secondary VGA camera for video calling.

The other specifications of Mi-410 are 3.5G HSDPA at blazing speeds of 21Mbps,  EDGE/GPRS, Bluetooth 3.0 with EDR capabilities, Wi-Fi connectivity and Wi-Fi Tethering, integrated GPS with A-GPS support, Google and MS office apps, HDMI output, 2GB of internal memory, 512MB RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB. The battery is 1400 mAh with Talk time of 4 hours in 2G and 2 hours 30 minutes in 3G.

The Spice Mi-410 is a rebranded version of the Huawei Ideos X6 and Olive Smart V-S300 by Olive Telecom with Google Android 2.3 both looks almost same. Both mobile should be manufactured by same Chinese OEM.

The SmartPhone Made from Flexible Paper

The future is more smart and flexible! The new Paper Phone prototype shown off  the future of mobile devices. New Paper Phone created by research teams at Queen’s University in Canada and Arizona State University. Its a 9.5-centimeter (diagonal) screen is actually a lightweight flexible display and feel similar to a bendable piece of plastic. It does everything a smartphone does.

The Paper Phone is best described as a flexible iPhone. The Paper Phone can store books, play music or make phone calls and being able to store and interact with documents on larger versions of these light, flexible computers means offices will no longer require paper or printers. It uses an E-Ink display and works by bending the phone into different positions to make calls, use apps, and listen to music. When you want to make a call you simply bend the device's surface and squeeze the appropriate symbols.

According to creator roel vertegaal, the director of queen’s university human media lab, "This is the future. everything is going to look and feel like this within five years. this computer looks, feels and operates like a small sheet of interactive paper. you interact with it by bending it into a cell phone, flipping the corner to turn pages, or writing on it with a pen. We don’t see any camera as of yet, so it’s missing a feature that’s extremely popular with smartphones, but we know it’s in the early stages, so that could be added in the future.”

In Paper Phone you can chooses the shape for each function. For example, you can choose to bend the upper-right corner to make a call, or bend the lower left to listen to music. These shapes are then recorded into the software, and when repeated, they send the appropriate action to the device.

Dr. vertegaal will unveil his paper computer on may 10 at 2 pm at the association of computing machinery’s chi 2011 (computer human interaction) conference in vancouver — the premier international conference of human-computer interaction.

Sony Ericsson X3 Concept Phone with 10MP Camera and 2.5GHz Dual-Core CPU

A new concept phone of Sony Ericsson has emerge which suppose to have a 2.5GHz dual-core application processor and 10 megapixel camera. The phone is Sony Ericsson X3. Ya its very high as a point of smartphone but really not very surprising as today's smartphones promise more and more performance and higher clocked processors.

As we already have 1.2GHz dual-core mobile phones available in market. Nvidia is gearing up for the launch of the first smartphones and tablet PCs with quad-core application processors inside, its Kal-El Tegra 3 chip, to be more precise, but this is not all. Chip makers are also working on speeding up these processors, and the first 2GHz multi-core CPU might very well arrive on shelves as soon as next year.  

According to news by Softpedia, however, a fast processor is nothing inside a new smartphone if other hardware specs were not bumped up as well, but the said concept device would cover them all. Sony Ericsson X3 comes from Frank Tobias, an enthusiast photographer and designer from Luxembourg.

According to Frank Tobias, “So here's the Sony Ericsson X3. It features a 10.0 megapixel camera with HD-function up to 1080p. It's 4.2' touchscreen has a resolution of 540x920 pxls. It supports a 2.5 Ghz Dualcore-CPU. The internal memory capacity is up to 64 GB. Don't worry about that there's “nothing” under the touchscreen, there is a touchpad which shows the symbols you need. I hope it's OK like that”.

More will confirm after the official announcement by Sony Ericsson and will clear the full features and availability of Sony Ericsson X3.

Nokia Starts Shipping of E6 and Nokia X7 First Symbian Anna Phones

Nokia has stared to ship the first Nokia phones featuring Symbian Anna, the Nokia E6 and Nokia X7 in global markets. Both phones was announced  in April and now ready get in your hands. Nokia also confirmed that the Nokia N8, E7, C7 and C6 will soon get Symbian Ann in the coming months.

Here some of Nokia E6, Nokia X7 and Symbian Anna features highlights below.
Symbian Anna:
~Faster and better web experience with an all new browser.
~The long-awaited portrait QWERTY plus split screen text input.
~All new Ovi Maps with public transport routes and other enhancements.

Nokia E6:
The QWERTY and touch experience on the Nokia E6 offers faster navigation and operation than either a pure touch or keyboard-only system. The screen is a bright 2.46-inch LCD capacitive touch display offering 16mn colours and a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels. It’s made of tough glass for great durability.
The device comes with 8GB of internal memory and support for MicroSD cards up to 32GB. The battery is a removable Nokia BP-4L 1500mAH – rated for up to a month on standby and 7h30m talk-time over 3G – longer over GSM connections. As you would expect, it offers Pentaband 2G/3G network support for world travellers and WiFi connectivity through 802.11 b/g/n. There’s also Bluetooth 3.0 with support for stereo headphones.
The device measures 115.5 x  59 x 10.5mm and weighs 133g. The 8-megapixel full focus (EDOF) camera has a dual-LED flash, 2X digital zoom (3X in video mode) and offers HD 720p video recording at 25fps. The latest Symbian operating system now comes with five home screens, an improved browser and redesigned interface (there’s more info on Symbian Anna here). Bundled software includes QuickOffice, World Traveler, JoikuSpot Premium and F-Secure Mobile Security. More apps can be downloaded and installed through Ovi Store.
There’s much more memory, much better connectivity and an 8-megapixel camera. There’s also support for USB On-The-Go and AV-out for connecting to a television or headphones.

Nokia X7:
The 4-inch, capacitive AMOLED display offers 16 million colours and a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels. And it’s made of tough glass, so it won’t shatter if you lose control during a drive around Asphalt 5 HD. The 8-megapixel full focus camera also offers 720p video recording and comes with a dual LED flash. The Nokia X7 comes with 8GB memory card pre-installed, with up to 350MB built-in operating memory. It can support MicroSD cards up to 32GB.
The device measures 119.7 x 62.8 x 11.9mm (thinner at the edges) and weighs 146g. It offers Pentaband 2G/3G network connectivity and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi support. It offers a 3.5mm audio connector for headphones. The 1200mAH battery is rated for up to 450 hours standby and 4.5 hours talktime on a 3G network – longer over GSM.
It comes with Galaxy on Fire HD and Asphalt 5 HD preinstalled. And there’s thousands more great games and apps on Ovi Store.

The X7 will be available in Europe, Eurasia, China, India and other Asia/Pacific countries, while the E6 will be available in Europe, Eurasia, Asia/Pacific, as well as the Middle East and Africa. There's no actual date by Nokia and not the price of Nokia E6 and X7.
